We took a couple of pictures of the hotels we've been in because they definitely need Bob's help. Both of these have PULL STRING lights and this isn't in Bob's vocabulary!! LOL
And here's one more - definitely needs your help Bob!!
Sorry everyone else, but this is an old family joke!!
We left Paris for Holyhead, Wales on Monday the 25th on the train. This took us through the Chunnel (a 20 minute ride), into London where we changed trains for Holyhead. It was altogether a 9 hour trip.
One side remark here. I forgot to mention that on our way back from Normandy on Saturday, we went through the tunnel (or underpass) where Princess Diana was killed in the car accident in Paris. Someone on the bus recognized it and asked the driver of the bus and he confirmed this. I tried getting a picture, but it was just too quick!
We stayed in this Bed and Breakfast in Holyhead. Very nice, cozy little place and the town is very quiet and nice.
We took a walk out on the waterfront in the harbor where there were lots of sailing vessels. Very nice, peaceful scene compared to our five days in Paris!!
We stayed the night here and then took the ferry across to Dublin (about a two and half hour trip across the Irish Sea)
Sam took this picture from the stern of the ship
Here's a lighthouse
Of course we had to try Fish and Chips and they had them on the ship. They were delicious!
We stayed overnight in Dublin and then took off north for Glasgow, Scotland via Belfast. When we arrived in Belfast by train, we were as usual not sure where to go to get the ferry. We asked a station attendant and she told us we needed to take a taxi to the ferry terminal. Where to find a taxi? We headed out the door and a taxi driver asked if we needed a taxi. We told him our plans and he said the ferry left in 45 minutes and we had to be on board 30 minutes before departure. Whew!! So he drove us (through lots of traffic) and got us there just in time. The ferry attendant told us we were LATE, but issued us a ticket anyway :)
Here's the Black Cab like we took!! They are CUTE!
We landed in Stranrae and then had a more than two hour train trip (milk run again) through the Scottish countryside to Glasgow. The sites were beautiful with lots of sheep and green fields with hedgerows!
In Glasgow there are these cute little police stations in the streets
So this finds us in Glasgow - we leave tomorrow for Carlisle, England (just over the border) and two days at our convention. More after that and by then I'll have a computer (which has been trying to find us in Europe!!)
