European Trip 2009

Zurich

It's Saturday, May 2nd and we left Interlakken this morning and we are now in Zurich - by way of Spiez and Bern.

Guess what was about the first thing we saw??

Yep a Starbucks - my first since we left home!!  We had a nice dinner and then I brought back my Starbucks to the room.  Sam didn't feel too well yesterday - he got wet feet in Rome and Venice and contracted a cold - but he's better today!!  I'm working hard not to get his cold. This Caramel Macchiato should do the trick!!

 

Here's Old Towne Zurich.  I have lots of pictures of church spires.  They all have clocks and the neat thing is that they all work and are right on time!! This goes for Italy too!!  I'm really impressed - except I can't find a watch battery LOL

Sam and Dan will be here tomorrow and we meet up with them in Fussen, Germany - we'll share more then!!

Switzerland

Nothing much to post yesterday as we traveled from Venice through Milan to Interlakken, Switzerland.  This area is simply stunning - no words to describe it.  Unfortunately this computer does not have an available USB port, so I can't download my pictures, but I will as soon as I find the right connection.

We took the train up the Alps to Grindelwald then Kleine Scheidegg, Wengen and the Lauterbrunnenn Valley - no words to describe the beautiful sights.  We could have ridden the train to the Jungfraujoch "Top of Europe", but not this time.   This is definitely a place I could come back to.

Much quieter place than Italy - still tourists, but not as many.

And I finally found a place, so here's yesterday!

 

We had just arrived in Interlakken, Switzerland - this was the 30th

Friday May 1st we took a train trip up into the Alps

Interlakken Ost (East) to Grindelwald then Kleine Scheidegg, Wengen and the Lauterbrunnenn Valley

  

 

 

This is a Swiss Chalet with Jungfraujoch in the background - you can google search for more information !!

Of course, we have tons more pictures, but this will give you an idea of this beautiful country.  Brings back lots of memories of Uncle Otto!!
